What is Invisalign?
The Invisalign system is the brand name used for straightening teeth with a series of custom-made aligners for each patient. It is a combination of proprietary virtual modeling software, and custom-made aligners with patented aligner material. Invisalign is an alternative orthodontic treatment to braces for those who prefer the aesthetics of the aligners over the look of traditional braces.
For those who are apprehensive about the appearance of traditional braces, the Invisalign system achieves the same results as braces but with nearly invisible aligners. In fact, more often than not our Invisalign patients say no one even notices they’re wearing them!
You will have a set of clear thermoplastic aligners custom-made to move your teeth into position in a time frame discussed between you and the doctor. You will need to wear each aligner for about two weeks before you replace it with the next aligner in the series. But don’t worry, it doesn’t mean you need to see us every couple of weeks – we will give you 8 weeks worth of aligners at each visit.
